WOODMONT VANDALISM

12/20/2011 UPDATE: Inflatable snowman also slashed at 10214 renfro

12/20/2011
I'm sorry to have to send out a Woodmont Vandalism report around the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately, a bicycle has been stolen and the Luther's inflatable snowman was slashed last night at Schenley & Sydelle.

A police report will be filed and I urge you to report any vandalism or suspicious activity to your block Captain, a WCA board member and the police. What you may think is an isolated incident could turn out to be part of a related crime pattern in our neighborhood. Please take the extra precautions to secure your home and vehicles. Light your property. If you are going out of town, let someone know to pick up your mail and keep an eye on your house.

Please remember, if you see something say something.

Woodmont Pool Vandalism

Hello Neighbors,

Unfortunately, I have very bad news to report from our Neighborhood Watch Coordinator, Cassie McLaren. Her e-mail outlining vandalism in our neighborhood follows:

From: Cassie McLaren
Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 4:28 PM
Subject: Woodmont Pool Vandalism
Sadly our Woodmont Pool was maliciously vandalized sometime last night. Please pass this on & if you know of anyone who may know about this call the nonemergency number of the police dept. Sometime last night someone dumped cans of paint in the pool which has led to not only the pool being closed, yet an incredible amount of work for folks to clean it up. This type of vandalism is getting out of hand. It doesn’t seem as if it’s “just teenage vandalism”, but more of a type of malicious behavior. Recently we have had cars broken in to, car windshields smashed, mailboxes destroyed, etc. etc. Please let your NW Captains know if you have any ideas about who may be doing this. Call the non emergency number and your NW Block Captain with any suspicions. Please call or email me with any thoughts or concerns.

Robbery from vehicle in Woodmont July 13th

Neighbors at 2509 Shoreham Drive had both of their cars riffled through the night of July 13th. Thankfully neither had anything of much value left in them...only a small change toll purse was taken. Owners say, the cars were certainly opened up and searched through with one door left ajar. They also say indications are that this incident was the act of an adolescent, or at least someone very new at this. Please remember to lock your cars, even though we want to believe these things don't happen in our neighborhood... they do.
